A large deviations approach to optimal long term investment

We consider an investment model where the objective is to overperform a given benchmark or index. We study this portfolio management problem for a long term horizon. This asymptotic criterion leads to a large deviation probability control problem. Its dual problem is an ergodic risk sensitive control problem on the optimal logarithmicmoment generating function that is explicitly derived.A caref...

A large deviation approach to optimal transport

A probabilistic method for solving the Monge-Kantorovich mass transport problem on R is introduced. A system of empirical measures of independent particles is built in such a way that it obeys a doubly indexed large deviation principle with an optimal transport cost as its rate function. As a consequence, new approximation results for the optimal cost function and the optimal transport plans ar...

Deviation Inequalities for Exponential Jump-diffusion Processes

In this note we obtain deviation inequalities for the law of exponential jump-diffusion processes at a fixed time. Our method relies on convex concentration inequalities obtained by forward/backward stochastic calculus. In the pure jump and pure diffusion cases, it also improves on classical results obtained by direct application of Gaussian and Poisson bounds.

Dynamic optimal portfolio choice in a jump-diffusion model with investment constraints

We consider the dynamic portfolio choice problem in a jump-diffusion model, where an investor may face constraints on her portfolio weights: for instance, no-short-selling constraints. It is a daunting task to use standard numerical methods to solve a constrained portfolio choice problem, especially when there is a large number of state variables. By suitably embedding the constrained problem i...

Optimal Long Term Investment Model with Memory

We consider a financial market model driven by an Rn-valued Gaussian process with stationary increments which is different from Brownian motion. This driving noise process consists of n independent components, and each component has memory described by two parameters. For this market model, we explicitly solve optimal investment problems. These include (i) Merton’s portfolio optimization proble...
